Pilot Project “Teachers Twinning” launched in the Region of Samtskhe-Javakheti

ECMI Caucasus in cooperation with the “Civil Education for Lawful State” has elaborated and agreed on the implementation of the pilot project “Teachers Twinning” which is supported in the framework of the Eastern Partnership Minorities Network.

The main objective of the pilot project is to advance competences of Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda public school teachers in Georgian language and support civic integration.

This aim is set to be achieved by two concrete ways:

  1. Acquire practical experience of learning Georgian language by placement in rest of Georgia and twinning with ethnic Georgian teachers of the same profile as well as exchanging best practices of teaching methodology.
  2. Support forming of professional and cultural relations with between the “twinned teachers” which will facilitate trust-building and civic integration process.

As a result of the project 13 beneficiary teachers will selected from both municipalities Ninotsminda and Akhalkalaki. Planned activities and meetings will contribute to raising awareness amongst local populations and decision makers, generating support for minority advocacy work and creating awareness of how the EaP and EU can support this work.
