Online course for Local Authorities launched by the EaPMN

On December 1, 2015 EaPMN presented one of its activities aimed at the local authorities and public servants in the Eastern Partnership countries: an online course on local self government and minority rights. The official launch and presentation of the course was at the “Role of Municipalities in Promotion of Development Education and Awareness Raisining”  conference, organized in the framework of the project “LADDER – Local authorities as drivers for development education and raising awareness”, funded by the EC and implemented by ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy.

The EaPMN online course is designed to raise local authorities’ awareness of citizens’, civil society and minorities’ involvement at the local level. It gives step-by-step guidance on methods to improve participation and governance at local level and introduces pragmatic and practical hints for problems faced by local authorities in the Eastern Partnership region. The course also gives international and European examples of minority participation and provides possible partnership and useful contacts for participants at the end of the course. The online course could be completed in Russian and English languages.

Interested applicants, representing self governments from Eastern Partnership countries can apply to be enrolled in the online course, which lasts 6 weeks and requires submission of the application. All emails should be sent to: [email protected]
